The Columba Hotel Oban is a Victorian hotel built in 1865 and 1901 of Scottish granite and sandstone. It stands as a landmark on the North Pier overlooking the town of Oban and Oban Bay to the Isles of Kerrera, Mull and Lismore and the Mountains of Morven.
All rooms are bright and airy and this is enhanced by the décor. They have Victorian features such as high ceilings, large windows and plenty of space. The rooms are also equipped with a comfortable bed, a hairdryer, TV, direct dial phone and tea and coffee making facilities. Most of the rooms have sea views and those remaining have views of the wooded hillside.
The Alba Restaurant serves Scottish dishes and has managed to keep its relaxed atmosphere and Victorian charm. Guests are also invited to unwind in the hotel’s Harbour Bar and Harbour Lights Bar.
Long regarded as the "Gateway to the Isles", Oban looks out onto a beautiful landscape of rolling mountains, lochs and islands, and is the perfect staging post for trips to Lismore, Mull, Iona and Fingal’s Cave on Staffa. |
