Our family-run guesthouse Gasthof zum Spessart is located in Mespelbrunn, in the heart of Spessart.
We offer 16 double and 4 single rooms in various categories with a total of 36 beds. All rooms are equipped with shower and WC, telephone, as well as satellite TV, and some even offer a balcony. For celebrations, our guesthouse provides suitable rooms with space for 200 persons, as well as a large terrace.
In the guesthouse’s own restaurant you are warmly entertained with Franconian specialities such as game and trout dishes, as well as other delicacies. Complementing this you can enjoy a fresh beer brewed in the Spessart region or a glass of good wine from Franconia.
An interesting sight is the famous construction of the Mespelbrunn Castle in Spessart, a romantic moated castle or the three-nave, Gothic Pilgrimage Church of Hessenthal. The sign-posted paths in Spessart have made it accessible for hiking tourists for many decades. |

A perfect stay and excellent food and hospitality
The only real disadvantages were the size of the room and the noise level. As mentioned, nr. 16 was on the small side, and especially the bathroom/shower was too small to be comfortable, although everything was in mint condition. It seems the other rooms had much more space so I would recommend avoiding room 16. Nevertheless all in all the hotel still was good but based on the reviews I had expected the room to be a little more comfortable, but it seems we just were unlucky with this particular room. The walls seem rather thin and the noises from other rooms (and the street out front) are quite audible. The size of the TV is not appropriate in this day and age for people who care to watch it (which we didn't), especially since it's quite far away from the most convenient place to watch it (the bed).
