The Hotel derives its name from the eighteen-century Italian tenor "Giuseppe Leoni", to whom local fishermen, being enthusiasts of Italian "bel canto", decided to donate a piece of lake shore property as a sign of their recognition.

Welcome to Hotel Schloss Berg in the heart of Upper Bavaria. Set in historical surroundings, close to the Schlosspark with its votive chapel and the memorial cross of the fairytale King Ludwig II, our establishment is located away from the through-traffic, directly on the sunny eastern banks of Starnberger See. It is only 20 minutes to Munich, in just about a hour you could be standing at the foot of Mount Zugspitze.
All 59 rooms are equipped with an analogue telephone connection, TV and minibar. The hotel comprises the lower house directly on the banks of the lake and the upper house only a few paces away on the hillside.
The historical lower building houses a cosy restaurant where an ample breakfast buffet is laid out. There is also a lakeside beer garden located here. In the restaurant, with its open fire and sun terrace, you can choose between delicious seasonal dishes and Bavarian delicacies. Enjoy a bottle of wine or a freshly tapped beer as an accompaniment.
The spa area in the upper building offers, for your relaxation, free use of our sauna. Tokens for the steam room and solarium are available at reception. In the warm season, the hotel’s own bathing platform invites guests to take a refreshing dip in Starnberger See. It’s a great place to laze about and enjoy the view over the lake. |
